We are a custom bakery in the Kansas City area. Nothing we make is pre-made, and nothing leaves here without the person who ordered it seeing the design first.
Birthdays and weddings, and just as often the memorial you are putting together this week or the retirement party nobody else remembered to plan.

Every “we” on this site is really Katherine.
My Sweet Addiction KC is Katherine Bresette, and that is the entire staff list. She takes the order, works out the design, bakes it, decorates it and hands it over.
Katherine is self-taught. Everything she knows about decorating a cake she learned by doing it, getting it wrong, and doing it again. That is probably why she is so particular about how an order leaves here.
It is also why the schedule fills. She would rather turn an order down than rush one, so if a date is already spoken for she will say so instead of squeezing you in.
The rules she works by
Taste is not optional
Plenty of desserts photograph well and disappoint on the plate. Ours have to do both, and that is the part people tell us is rare.
You approve the design
We work it out with you before anything is baked, from a photo you found, a past order of ours, or an idea you cannot quite picture yet.
Priced by the work
Not by the slice. What your order costs depends on how long the design takes and what goes into it, which is why there is no price list on this site.
Fewer orders, on purpose
If we cannot fit your date properly, we will say so. We would rather turn an order down than rush one and hand over something we are not proud of.

We price by the design, not by the slice. What your order costs depends on how long it takes to make and what goes into it, which is why a number on a page would only ever be wrong for somebody.
How we plan around your date
It depends on what you are ordering. A cheesecake can be quick because the real constraint is the overnight set. Decorated cookies take longer, and more of them takes longer still. If your date feels tight, ask anyway.
How your order gets to you
Most orders are picked up, and for most people that is easiest. Delivery can be arranged when it makes more sense than a drive across town, and anything with more than one tier we deliver and assemble ourselves.
